The Los Angeles-based six-piece indie experimental rock band Beatmo combines eclectic influences ranging from 80s new wave goth synth pop and Chicana punk to funky grooves, ethereal sounds, and soulful jazz on the Latin side.
In their mid-aughts heyday, BEATMO captivated local audiences around Southern California with their signature sounds and melodic vocals. Fans flocked to backyard parties in Hacienda Heights and legendary venues like The Roxy, Viper Room, House of Blues, and the Whisky a Go Go to watch the sizzling sextet play energetic sets. The band also performed live on KPFK radio and LATV, played at the Mirage in Las Vegas, and sold out shows at The Paramount and The Bordello Bar.
Alexis de la Rocha (lead vocals, synth), Monica Hidalgo (synths), Toni Tovar (guitar, vocals), Milan de la Rocha (guitar, vocals), Luis Zavaleta (bass), and Jerry Leyva (drums) are ready to make you dance with crowd favorites like ‘Treasure Hunt’, ‘Unheard March’ and ‘From the Water’. Check out their 2007 EP, Big Shot, and their sophomore EP Laced Heat Velvet Trigger (2009) on all platforms.
